@truthmatters709: RIP Michael LaMotte 14 💔 “Families involved in deadly UNM shooting speak up -ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A lot of New Mexicans have questions surrounding the shooting on the University of New Mexico’s campus—including the families of those involved. Loved ones are on opposite sides in this case but both are forever changed. 18-year-old John Fuentes is behind bars accused of shooting and killing 14-year-old Michael LaMotte and hurting a 19-year-old man early Friday morning inside the Casa del Rio dorms. New Mexico State Police confirmed LaMotte was there hanging out with his stepbrother. On Monday, LaMotte’s family released a statement through their attorney saying his passing is a tremendous tragedy to the family and community. They added they’re investigating what happened and believe law enforcement, namely UNM Police, didn’t respond quickly enough. The full statement is below. The LaMotte family attorney says Michael’s mother called 911 and then UNM police about the shooting, saying her son may have been the victim. They claim investigators didn’t respond and “hours passed between Ms. LaMotte’s initial calls to law enforcement and police arriving ad the dorm room in which the shooting took place.” But UNM Police Lt.
