God doesn’t create fear, people do. God did not give us a spirit of fear but some who call themselves christians teach and preach being scared of God instead of the fear of the Lord. Fear of the Lord is deep reverence. it’s being awestruck because you recognize Gods holiness and divinity but also His grace and mercy for all of us. having the fear of the Lord is the driving motivation to turn from sin because you love and respect Him so much that you don’t want to know what it’s like to live without Him. the fear that drives people from the church and the faith is not God, it was the people trying to instill fear in you to believe God, which is not how it’s supposed to be. I’m sorry to anyone who has had such experience, I promise that’s not how my God works.
