โ ๏ธ Scanned on the Exposr appโ ๏ธ A TikToker bought a McDonald's cheeseburger and left it sitting out. 500 days later โ no mould. No decomposition. No visible bacterial growth. The receipt deteriorated faster than the burger. The bun cracked slightly. The patty dehydrated. The cheese held its shape and colour. Over 500 days and the product still looks closer to food than anything biology would allow. McDonald's response: "Without sufficient moisture, bacteria and mould may not grow." They blame dehydration โ saying any food left to dry out would behave the same way. But this isn't the first time. A woman kept a McDonald's burger in her closet for 24 years โ it looked the same. An Icelandic man live-streamed one for over a decade. A teacher stored one for 12 years. A Non-Toxic Dad experiment left a Big Mac, cheeseburger, and fries under a desk for 10 months โ no mould on the buns, no decay on the cheese, no bacterial activity on the patties. A Stanford microbiologist reviewed one of these experiments and said the results suggest the burger is "nearly sterile starting material" that is "poor in nutrients required for growth of many microbes." Food is supposed to decompose. That's how biology works. When it doesn't โ for 500 days โ the question isn't whether it's safe to eat. It's whether it was ever really food. Scanned on the Exposr app
