It’s called a slow fade. It’s their way of preventing accountability and awkwardness of saying they aren’t interested. The goal is for you to finally just stop reaching out or responding.

Yes. I called them out. They said “no no, I want to spend time with you! I just have anxiety”. Fast forward 3 1/2 years. I have a PhD in Avoidant attachment. Just walk away. Trust me. 🙄

The problem here is the constant availability to communication. It sounds like it should be a good thing but when you’re getting to know someone talking to them all day everyday and be overwhelming. Maybe it’s just me as a neurodivergent person, I still need my me time. And if I come back after a day or 2 and you’re not longer interested that’s cool too. People need to learn that “me time” is essential whether you’re in a relationship or not. And sometimes when someone asks for space it’s not because they need space from you, they just need to focus on them. & that is 💯 a 2 way street.
