two things, it depends on how much you plan on driving the vehicle, because mileage will drive down the ACV. second, you can also get it through your loan provider.

Insurance companies don't value dealer margin - difference between value and price paid. A good negotiation would result in no need for GAP insurance

When I had a carrier that did offer, I was told to get it through dealer because mine did not cover theft.

I always get it from the car dealership. Normally my mileage goes way over the standard so it lessens the value a lot.
