For more context: Peter Villalobos, a 27-year-old man, locked himself in a McDonald’s bathroom for over an hour. Police talked him out of the restaurant but the man did not want to talk or remain on site. The police tried to detain him (not arrest) and he became combative. This man had a mental crisis going on and he started fighting the police. The police did what they had to do for him to stop fighting and resisting. Hit a cop, expect to get hit back.

This video makes it pretty clear this wasn’t the cops fault. They used appropriate force to detain him. Sat him up once he was cuffed. Got an ambulance and had him transported to the hospital. What else are they supposed to do? Lol

The man was definitely resisting arrest. Officers have to do what they have to do to detain him and keep themselves safe officers need full immunity so they could do their job.
