@sunshine: When the Prophet ﷺ, in the final, breathless moments of his life, commanded the ummah to “hold fast to the Qur’an and my Ahl al-Bayt,” he was establishing the eternal axis of guidance—Shia Islam—the living embodiment of divine succession. This was never a sect; it is the truth of Islam as Allah subhana wa ta’ala intended, a direct continuation of prophetic authority. What later emerged around the Khalifas, the so-called “Sunni” sect, was a humanly constructed deviation, formed after the Prophet ﷺ had been denied the chance to enshrine his directive, a sect built on exclusion rather than covenant. Shia Islam is not a partisan identity; it is the fulfillment of Allah’s promise, the inheritance of guidance, while the others, in rejecting that covenant, enshrined a sectarian path that the Prophet ﷺ never sanctioned. To see this is to confront the profound spiritual and intellectual reality that Shia Islam is Islam itself, untouched by human alteration, while Sunniism is a later creation, however loudly it may claim legitimacy.
