Sorry, but building a Dyson sphere is much more probable than building a drive that can go faster than the speed of light. Actually, the second one is impossible.

The Dyson sphere doesn't have to completely obscure the sun. If we only do 0.01%, we'll still have enough energy that we could hardly use up. Just farm a few moons and we'll have enough resources.

We can't build one, at least right now, but that doesn't mean it's impossible forever. Who knows what the human race will look like or be capable of a 1000 years from now for example And that still not accounting for other life in the universe (given the size highly possible) / or the discovery of near to lightspeed, at lightspeed or flt travel (again as far as we know right now we can't do it, but that doesn't mean impossible forever)

it's 100% possible lol, we don't have the technology to gather advance materials in our solar system but when human civilization technology advance for space exploration just like how planes and cars explore ours then it'll start from there, I mean we already started it by having a human being outside our planet and comeback alive

wouldn't an advanced civilization be able to harvest a star's gas to then fuse it into heavier elements to build the structure with? it could be built autonomously if they need metal because the gas from the star can be fused into iron
