The one final step that I've always taught is when you are done to always turn the engine over by hand that way if anything is not set right it won't bend valves and destroy pistons.

You might mention TDC on the compression stroke. There are 2 TDC one for exhaust one for compression firing

Did this one time on a tdi Jetta and couldn’t get it to run right re did it like 5 times then I erased the marks on the 6th time and it ran perfectly fine just throwing this out there
