I have Aetna/CVS Caremark and they were previously letting me get my Mounjaro. Now they have required a PA and have denied it. My doctor tried to get it approved and still denied it. What can I do to get an appeal approved?

Thank you for this. Just had to switch to wegovy for this exact reason. So far the side effects are worse. What qualifies as failure and how long do we have to try. Was doing so well on Zepbound.

I didn’t try/fail wegovy first but I still got approved for Mounjaro bc I have Crohns and made a strong case for GI tolerability. While I am not at all lucky to have Crohns, I am lucky they approved triz for me.

I'm so mad...last month I was covered though my ins, and had CVS Caremark got approved for Mounjaro (MJ), and effective 9-1 our company now has BCBS and it not covered at all! So I was only on MJ for just 1 month and I'm only pre-diabetic not diabetic as this is what only covers through BCBS!!! I was tempted to buy gray market, but looked it up and all thats sold on TT is fake medications for Mounjaro etc.

I was on Wegovy for a year, then was on Mounjaro for 2 years before Zep even came out. When zepbound came out, they kicked me back to wegovy but would not cover Zep at all (I work for them so it was never covered for us). I was then on wegovy for another year, gaining.. then out of nowhere, Mounjaro got approved for another year. Then last month my refill gets denied after 3 appeals, so back on wegovy
