Fly through Dublin, US preclearance. Land as a domestic flight and can go straight to your connecting gate

It’s ridiculous! I had a layover in LA, I was flying from the UK to Canada, and I got grilled by TSA. Mate, I didn’t even want to be there! He asked me why I flew to LA, I said it was cheaper than flying direct

not great but it’s not full check in. There’s a desk after customs specifically for connections and your bag is already tagged through so you literally just drop it off and move on. Still not great but

Since when? We had a connection in dc from Toronto to London and we definitely did not redo security. That was 2013 though.

Gatwick to Auckland via LAX, deplaned for refueling stop. Had to clear Homeland Security to get back on the same plane.

That’s not always the case. We travelled through Portland from Alaska to London and we didn’t have to go through security or collect our bags at Portland.

This isn’t true btw. Flew from Fort Worth to Miami, to London. I didn’t have to leave the airport at Miami or grab bags

Technically Canada is the same, you need a visa to enter the country to transit and have to go through customs and recheck you bags if I’m not mistaken
