Polishing your boots anytime after the academy is hilarious 😂

I recommend breaking the boots in before applying polish. Cause when you start walking, the polish will crack

Use Saphir polish. I switched from Kiwi to it and the time required to maintain a beautiful shine is far less. It’s expensive but I’ve been using the same cans on multiple pairs of boots for the last 6 months

Get h a pair that u can move in. The big boots are more comfy but you’ll want a boot that won’t hold u down. A pair that’ll let u jump fences and shit chasing a perp. I recomend danner

Kiwi parade polish, apply a layer, use a hair dryer to melt it. Buff with water, repeat until desired shine. Unless required to have shined boots, I wouldn't, but that's just me.

How do you like those? I’m looking for new duty boots. I have on cloud cloudrocks right now that I love. Just want more options 😂

Just some pointers, instead of using a cloth to buff use a cotton ball with water on it, use a lighter after applying polish just until it glazes then go in with the moist cotton ball

I hated Kiwi lol I used Saphir or Angelus with a cotton ball but there's so many ways to shine boots 🙂↕️

Heat, I use a hair dryer or something to heat the boot a bit. Helps the polish get in there a little better and lasts longer

Thankfully my department only really cares about shined boots for events where it makes sense, that means we can wear other styles while on patrol.
If your agency allows for it, check out Solomon Speed Assault 2. They're about 160 bucks and usually last me about a year to a year and a half depending on how hard I've been working in them. Super light and comfortable straight out of the box, they use a toggle lace rather than tied laces meaning you can slip them on and off super easy while staying secure.

I tried these same Bates boots but the seam at the bottom of the laces kept digging into my foot. I was disappointed

I need new boots just can’t decide which ones to get. Almost all my boots slip when I’m doing extractions. There’s not a worse time to have that happen
