My humble opinion: People divided into comments about whether it's a reference or a base, that this is not art, that it is tracing... She made that 3D head in a program from scratch, just like she would make a any common illustration from scratch; the head is part of her art, she can use it to do whatever she wants because she did it 😂. Or does making a 3D head (from scratch) in a specialized program detract from her work, as if we didn't use specialized drawing programs to illustrate, which have useful resources and so on? There are artists who are already excellent at what they do and are not looking to "improve" or "learn" from what they draw. Why we can't let it be and that's it 😂😂, Laura Rubin does not owe anything to anyone and can do with her art what she wants, she can USE HER OWN RESOURCES for herself as she wants too 🙆.

People don't realize how easy and rewarding it is to draw over/color in a reference like that. It really doesn't take too much skill, it isn't super technical and easy to learn. Doing this is fun and the character creation process is much more inspiring than typical a prompt into an AI that generates slop.
