It’s the paint and the colour! Semi gloss paint is easier to clean. But also the lighter the colour, the more the grime will show. If you are using a pastel, grey or white colour cabinet, prepare for having all the grime to show no matter how many times you clean it.

Anytime you paint cabinet, even with cabinet paint, it takes 30 days for them to completely cure. Just be super careful during that time so they don’t scratch or scuff. 😁

So my friend who is a painter said that if you paint cabinets they will always chip. It's better just to buy them pre-fab.

As someone that has to move every few years (hubby is military) paint doesn’t last forever. Literally needs be to be touched up every few years from normal wear and tear. Just an unfortunate fact of life. And I have kids and dogs so more often for us.
