My allergies are my issue, no one else’s. If there are nuts present, I choose not to partake. I would never insist someone make exceptions for me, nor would I insukt someone offering full transparency!

I use to work at Sonic. For ice cream in the blender we had to stop and sanitize in the middle of a rush for nut allergies. Like everything we used. Otherwise it was business as usual. Nut allergies are serious. I think you handled everything perfectly. You cannot make everyone happy period.

I have a few allergies and I’ve had people accidentally and some carelessly give me things I’m allergic to. I definitely prefer someone telling me no or explaining that there could be cross contamination rather than an allergic reaction!

no kitchen is truly nut free unless they have never had nuts brought in to it and all ingredients used say nut free. this is why food says may contain nuts as its made in a facility that uses nuts

With you being a small business, I would suggest HELL NO don’t take an order from her! People are crazy and unfortunately because of her (already) demeanor, I would worry about false accusations no matter how much you sterilize!

I don’t take any orders that require special instructions just because cross contamination. You can sanitize all you want but there is always a chance.

I bought from you a few weeks ago and since we have a nut allergy in our house I knew to not let my kid eat any of them because one of your products had nuts. No big deal. We would rather be safe on our end. As a baker I would want my custom to be extra cautious for the sake of their allergy. I would say don’t risk it!

Good lord! I do t see how any kitchen can truly be nut free if they ever use nut products. I don’t think there is enough sanitization that could 100% guaranteed no cross contamination. It’s not worth my families’ lives to take a chance. I would appreciate your honesty.
