I never got one as a child, but I remember looking at the catalog and wanting Kirsten so bad. My girls are now at the age to be able to be able to take care of and appreciate them. They will be getting their first one for Christmas this year. It heals something in me being able to do that for them when I couldn’t as a kid.

I love them too! They were so special to me and now I have a baby cousin who is OBSESSED with them and I’m taking her to the store soon! I still take care of my dolls and get one for Christmas every year because I truly love them so much. I slept with Chrissa and Kanani in my bed every night when I was little. Get the Rapunzel! I have her and I display her on my mantle.

I too had an American girl doll. Got her back in the 90s and there was an American girl accessory store in brandermill that I frequented. I gave my doll to my girls and they were terrified of her 🤣. She was sadly in their room when the fire started.

My daughter’s first one was named Brooklyn bcuz we bought her in NY. She has two dolls and used to have all the sets (laundry, beauty shop, kitchen, wheelchair, etc) and had her birthday party at the cafe!! Made buying for Christmas easy bcuz I would just buy what she circled 😁

I had 4, and I think you’re right. I got my last one right before I stopped collecting as a kid. Of course I loved her, but definitely not as much as my first 3. I’ve started collecting again this year now that I’m an adult, and I’ve grown to appreciate and love my 4th doll the way I never did as a kid. She’s seriously one of my favorites now.
