these people smell the blood in the water the second you falter and back down. and no amount of pleading or or humiliation will satiate their bloodlust. they thrive at any display of cowardice and will not hesitate to tear one to shreds. worst part? every reply to his video is negative. they dont accept it even when he is groveling at their feet the most.

I think this applies to lolcows too. like the internet will actually pick a person to mass bully for months. at best it's content about them but usually it's people messing with them irl and worsening their problems. think Chris chrischan or that one guy that people say put the fries in the bag. the excuse is "well they're bad people" but a lot of the times it's worsened by the internet for it's own pleasure

The “party of empathy and understanding “ are usually the ones perpetrating this cycle of hate to lol, most left wing gen z watch lolcow content and laugh at it but when a celebrity says something slightly offensive they take personal offense and act like it’s an evil that needs correcting.

Reminds me of people who beat up pdf files on camera. it doesn’t actually solve or help anyone but people LOVE it because it gives them dopamine seeing someone they dislike being punished, Even if it doesn’t actually help the people theyre trying to protect or make society better in the long run.

I think it's just part of being human. in a tribal setting it makes sense that it benefits the group to shun members who aren't compatible or display antisocial behaviors.
I mean history is littered with examples of individuals and groups being branded as the root cause of everything wrong in society.
it's just another instinct that's being exploited by social media

i feel like the people saying joey swoll did nothing wrong are using the same tactic as him, saying something most people agree with but framing it in a controversial way

the sad thing is that normies completely condone anti-social behavior, and would go as far as to hang up on you if try to call it out 😔

I hate this part of humanity so much. I want to hate that its a part of me too, but the ego wants to keep ot. The fact that I’d end up compartmentalizing it instead of permanently casting it out, and becoming conpletely incapable of this kind of attitude, is tragic. Even when i want to fight against this behaviour i tind myself stooping to that level.

the robespierre analogy is great here, as joey could only temporarily control the anger that he could insight as it was only a matter of time until it would get unleashed against him.

I thought everyone knew about this, humans have always been like this. Read up on witch craft trials, especially in the old world over the new. The average person is a lap dog to group think and love the blood in the water after
