@mathematics.peter: The Golden Ratio, often denoted by the Greek letter φ (phi), is an irrational number approximately equal to 1.618. It arises when a line is divided into two parts such that the whole length divided by the longer part is equal to the longer part divided by the shorter. Mathematically elegant and visually appealing, the Golden Ratio has fascinated mathematicians, artists, architects, and scientists for centuries due to its unique properties and aesthetic harmony. This ratio appears in nature, art, and design. You’ll find it in the spirals of seashells, sunflower seed patterns, hurricane formations, and even the proportions of the human body. Artists like Leonardo da Vinci used it in their compositions, and architects have incorporated it into buildings for its pleasing symmetry. In mathematics, it appears in geometry, especially in pentagons and Fibonacci sequences, where the ratio between consecutive numbers approaches φ. What makes the Golden Ratio so captivating is its combination of mathematical precision and natural beauty. It links algebra, geometry, and number theory while also showing up organically in the world around us. Whether you’re analyzing classical sculptures or studying plant growth, φ offers a timeless connection between math and the patterns of life. #maths #mathematics #math #education #science #physics #mathskills #mathematician #mathstudent #mathsmemes #mathmemes #mathteacher #mathproblems #algebra #mathstudents #calculus #school #chemistry #english #mathsteacher #learning #study #mathstricks #mathisfun #mathslover #mathsisfun #mathematical #memes #student #class

However, we're approaching the point, especially on investigation of the quantum realm where this "normal math" seems to be more of an approximation of reality than a representation of some actual dynamic. These numbers are simply approximations of a single dimension. More simply, just as Newton created calculus (he rationalized earlier works for gravity) the quantum realm gets weird without adding dimensions to our physical space. We can describe a single movement over time but we can't describe a single movement through multiple dimensions so we must approximate it. That is Pi, e, phi, might be an approximation of movement along a single axis, however, there is likely another unit more valuable when describing how protons "teleport", quarks vanish then reappear in the same state (or just appear altogether), or how we can, in theory, fold space-time to "teleport" information across vast distances. "Space" can be thought of as a 3 dimensional sheet that you can bend within a greater structure. Additionally, in order to "teleport" or preserve information in one state and transfer it over time (quantum computation revealed that we can do this recently) there has to be some other substantial force, dimension, etc at play. Under normal math, it shouldn't be possible to transfer subatomic particle states unless we are, ourselves admitting that we are simply approximating what's actually going on.
