I have the same sis..its so awkward..and for what reason actually? I dont know why it has to be such a big deal😭 its just a piece of fabric, surely they wouldn't look at me weird if I wore a hat or a cap. I dont have any advice unfortunately, I try to make it seem like its not awkward for me but on the inside I'm dying 😵💫

It's understandable. Maybe you could use a display picture on WhatsApp, etc., that shows you wearing the hijab, so they become aware of it in advance. Eventually, it should be fine - we humans can get used to anything. In fact, you're doing a great service to the Qur'an. Through you, they might even be introduced to it. So please continue focusing on learning it more deeply. As someone who was born Muslim and later became agnostic, I've come to realize that many of us Muslims aren't fully aware of the context and deeper meanings of even the shorter surahs. Learning Qur'anic Arabic has been the best decision of my life. 🙂
