My Mawmaw had dementia and we had to move her into the assisted living. I don't think people realize there is a difference between assisted living and nursing home. They maintain their independence and have activities. Mawmaw loves it so much her neighbor friend sold her home and moved in, as did my great aunt.

No judgement here! My brother at 53 had a massive stroke and in April of 2024 he came to stay with me. I saw his decline and he was in and out of the nursing homes until 3 weeks ago when he entered the hospital and on July 24 at 55 years old he passed away
