Introducing Christine Jacobs who will be a part of the South African Groupshow - Digging traces opening the 15th of January, Place du Grand Sablon 40, 1000 Brussels, Belgium - with artists: Andile Dyalvane, Atang Tshikare, Belinda Blignaut, Christine Jacobs, Dylan Lewis, Jan Ernst, Stanislaw Trzebinski This exhibition represents Robbe’s personal journey and encounter last year with the magnificent country of South Africa. From the sea, coast and city to the wonderful infinite lands spreading out deep into Africa. « Visiting South Africa has been an eye-opening experience. Learning from the history, culture and especially the land has taught me a lot even in a very brief moment of time. The goal is to bring my experience to Belgium and conceptualize this in a dedicated exhibition spanning over the full ground floor of the gallery. » While meeting a lot of very diverse artists, we realized there was an overarching theme as they are all connected to their soil. It is not specifically the culture nor history that brings them together, but the territory that they share between each other and in co-existence with nature (compared to most of Western society). This exhibition is the 3rd show (after 2 in South-Korea) in our ongoing goal to cultivate deeper connections between countries known for their craft traditions—such as Belgium, Mexico, and South-Korea —while celebrating the unique contributions of each. Through this dialogue, we hope to inspire the fusion of ideas, techniques, and cultural influences that continue to shape the future of art and design. - For more info, please contact us on info@objectswithnarratives.com - OBJECTS WITH NARRATIVES PLACE DU GRAND SABLON 40, 1000 BRUSSELS THURSDAY -SUNDAY 11H-19H
