I love the attempt to avoid responsibility “We were on the centreline the the instructions were…..”. As an airline pilot, regardless of what you were told to do, you only taxi when you know you are clear of all obstacles. I say this as an airline pilot.

The whole vertical latch assembly was sheered. That would generally require a total rebuild of the entire tail assembly. Plane offline for a month. Been there
