luckily I can’t relate. I was in a class for multicultural/cross-cultural counseling that went preeeetty hard, 95% of the class was white and/or straight, and they often got very emotional over the injustices/inequalities we talked about. they were very empathetic, had open minds, and listened to the POC or LGBTQ+ folks in class when we shared our stories, experiences, and insights

It gets worse in the work field. I feel sick to my stomach knowing the views of my coworkers when we work in mental health and impoverished areas. We were even told we have to cooperate with ICE

I never experienced bigger bullies than in my counseling cohort in grad school. And no I wasn’t that person. But a lot of people that go in counseling should be counselors 🤪🫠🫠
