Okay I need help, we was driving and the car just stopped, it said initiating battery saver. Then it said cam shag sensor then it said check engine. I was stupid I should’ve just change the battery. I bought it to a mechanic and I think he did something else to my car he was saying it was a timing belt he was gonna charge me $4000 just to fix the timing belt but it’s another mechanic he said it’s probably has a timing belt but he’s not gonna touch my car because in order to get to it you have to go underneath the engine or do the engine to get there and that’s too much work, but it’s with their mechanic he said possibly also the timing belt but change the whole engine because he’s not going to just fix the timing belt and charge me 4000 to replace entire engine yet alone. I really don’t know if it’s just a timing belt it could be just a battery I’m not sure. However what should I do ? Should I just do it myself

My daughter has a 2011 Dodge avenger and we have replaced the alternator at least three or four times in the last three years and the battery as well. And about every 6 to 8 months, the battery light comes on and the car won’t run anymore. we don’t know what to do but my husband refuses to let somebody look at it. He keeps just replacing the alternator because he says a mechanic shop is too expensive. It’s annoying me.

Would a big three upgrade fix the problem if it’s due to a weakening alternator or only if cables are frayed/loose

Had this happen and tapped the alternator and was able to get home to replace it.

my fiance took my battery out, used it in another car to start it that took maybe 10 mins, put my battery back in my car and the battery light is now on. how can that cause my light to come on? nothing was changed. nothing happened to break anything.
