I would suspect the husband doesnt see it as a big deal because, if given the opportunity, he would behave the same. Otherwise why would he be so bothered by teaching his son accountability

It seems like the husband doesn’t view the nanny as an equal human being to his children. The mom is making sure her son grows up well, the dad would raise him to not be held accountable and could end up with charges eventually.
