1. France began to lose its role as a major power after World War II, not because of The French Revolution. Overall, the 19th century was a very good time for France in terms of power. 2. The French language started to lose its status as a world lingua franca (like english Today) after WWI, when despite victory, french power was scratched by the Great War. It was then that the USA entered the picture and slowly began to marginalize the French hegemony in diplomatic salons. 3. Its not true. The population of france in 1792 was 28 milions. the number of victims of Maximilen Robespierre's the great terror was circa 30,000-45,000. If it was 20-30%, then it would be 5 600 000 - 8 400 000. In the Napoleonic Wars, the number of causalities was 3 500 000 - 5 000 000 (soldiers and civilians) and it was for all of the countries, not only France. 4. Overall, the French economy before the revolution was unsatisfactory. Money was wasted, goods became scarce, and hunger arose. The fact that there was instability and inflation in revolutionary France is more due to the fact that we had a revolutionary upheaval and the War of the First Coalition of 1792-1797. The French Republic was also a young organism, so instability was a normal thing in the first years. 5. Not exactly. Yes, there were those who had strange ideas (The revolutionary calendar, the feast of the supreme being) but it still wasn't the clue of the French Revolution and liberalism. Tradition didn't disappear. Notice that after 1815 we had a reactionary turn in Europe. Not to mention that Liberalism actually built a significant part of European civilization: individualism, free market, human freedom. Do you know the fact that in France during the Ancien Regime there was a society artificially divided into three social classes not based on wealth but on origin: The uneven distribution of land, the lack of civil rights, absolutism. I'm generally conservative, but I dont think these were values worth of protection. It was simply a model that was on the verge of collapse and had no logic whatsoever.

points to add: - Freemasons/bourgeois revolution, that’s a common misconception to say that the former absolute monarchy was a bourgeois monarchy. The nobility and the bourgeoisie were 2 complete separate things. The society before was more idealist, not materialist with consumerism. And I believe peasants lived better than industry workers. I guess food back then was more better quality than mass-produced food of today ultra-processed - France became less christian especially secularism laws in 1905 with the complete separation of State and Church. And don’t blame the religion for all that while the bourgeois who pretend to be in the religion did the complete opposite of what the religion taught - Everything is politicized, art, sports, and more because of multi-party system. You can’t live without politics now because of that and that’s a problem. Modern politics gives headache.
