Here’s a general example of a 50-minute appointment (this is when no x-rays or periodontal charting are needed). For patients with low cavity risk and healthy gums, appointments at my office typically alternate between 50 minutes and 1 hour, depending on whether x-rays and perio charting are needed. Every office may vary slightly on time allowances. Some extra info on individual patient needs: 🦷 Checkup x-rays (BWX) are usually taken once a year, though some patients may need them more or less often. 📝 Perio charting is done at least once a year for healthy mouths—and at *every* visit for those in perio maintenance or with heavier buildup.
