If a contractor I paid to build my deck showed up with this he would be fired because it would be very apparent he’s a DIYer trying to masquerade as a contractor.

because a carpenter would definitely lay the board out and throw that a way

the hate on this is lame, I built a shed for someone by myself without this and it took longer, I also built two with this finished 2 in one week. time is money.

I don’t understand the hate, I’ve been a carpenter a long time and I think it would be pretty handy, it’s easy to get off a layout line and 1/16 or an 1/8 here and there, this seems like it would eliminate the movement while fastening, I’d use the hell out of it

its better than a wooden jig and a good carpenter builds jigs for saving time. I like it

What about underneath. Are the boards square. Thinking using one on top and one on the bottom

Im sure half are outta square, doesn’t get the twist out, especially on wider lumber

It doesn’t look like it squares them up vertically.

Or you could lay it out with a pencil and tape measure in half the time.

honestly seems neet and like a nice product. but as someone that does a lot of carpenter work, it seems like the type of thing id buy use once then forget i bought it and just make another jig lol

All you need is for each one being off just a little until your layout is off then your plywood doesn’t fall on a joist

$100 wow that’s pretty crazy. I guess this is for people that don’t know how to re-tape measures.

Just one more thing I’d have to dig around in my too box. Just cut a piece of wood if you need it.
