I would be like "I know you lied. If you forgot, and wasn't able to get there or were sick or busy say so, and I can make arrangements. But that's besides the point. I can longer trust you, and will no longer be using your services".

I would have LOST IT especially with my cat being my literal child, but also being away you pay for peace of mind that your pet is safe and taken care of. Me I’d: Report the sitter, never book again, request money back, find another sitter as soon as she didn’t show up.

Her integrity is gone. I'd do the same. As long as you can prove she's coming daily now, just finish it out and I'd consider reporting to the company. Or get her to admit the mistake once you're back and report if she isn't remorseful? So unprofessional! I would also ask for a refund for the day she didn't come!!

I ended a 15yr friendship over someone who I thought was a friend doing thus to me. We were paying her too. Thankfully my neighbor stepped in. But I never spoke to her again. You gonna starve my cat and lie to me? No.

oh man, as a cat sitter myself this is very concerning! I never ever forget a visit! Just today I worked almost 10 hours and I don't miss a thing! don't book her again. if my cat misses a meal, he will become ill cuz he has IBD!

I would 100% let them know why you won’t be able to trust her pet sitting again … you deserve to be honest and let her know that it’s not ok to lie and not do the job she’s being paid to do!

As someone who does pet sitting, I could never. That’s so irresponsible and definitely needs to be reported to the app or whatever service you’re using. You should also ask for a refund for that first day

This is the worst. Call her employer, ensure she gets fired. I’ve had a similar experience and had to replace the sitter while I was away. Can’t have people this dishonest in your house with your pets.

My teenage son was asked to check in on the neighbours cat for three weeks while they were out of the country. Our family took terns going over every few hours. I’d bring my blue tooth speaker and listen to Audiobooks, my husband would hide treat all over the house for the cat to discover. Our son would watch movies with the cat. The cat was spoiled! 😂
