I'm getting married in November and I'm having a really hard time making sure that my flowers are not Israeli. I mentioned to my florist that I want to make sure of this and she said all her flowers are grown in Brazil. even with that though, they could still be Danziger flowers. Do you have any tips on how to get this across? would my florist be able to tell if she's buying Danziger flowers? I've explained that I don't want any baby's breath already.

I start everything from seed. Lizzie’s, bells, and all the hard to grow from seed stuff that commercial cut flower companies sell to other cut flower growers. They can be grown incredibly easily from seed. That’s being said I won’t grow the scoop Scabiosa due to the patents. I do buy the Italian anemones and ranunculus that have a patent. But everything thing else is grown from seed and I’m not a licensed grower. You can grow convent garden baby’s breath from seed. This is the reason we became local urban growers. To show others it’s not that hard to do.

This was a really great reminder to connect with local florist shops and talk to the florists. I’m losing connection with the specialists in my own community and I can do better.
