It should drop to 4%. Powell should be fired as he said he didn’t cut the short term rates on July 31 as he said the job market was strong, he is wrong, he should be fired, and rates should be cut.

Lowering interest rates could cause U.S. treasury bonds to sell off because of a increased inflation rate. This would mean higher rates for new US bonds, increasing the 30 yr mortgage rate, which is base on the 10 yr U.S. treasury.
