I think you made a mistake, originally you said that the retinal detachment would be an absolute scotoma, but then said they would see the light from the torch with RD, surely they wouldn’t see it with RD

Retinoschisis is splitting of the retina. Often times mistaken by retinal detachments. Schisis can also be combined with a detachment and or inner and outer holes.
