Ametrine is a blend of Citrine and Amethyst, two varieties of quartz, caused by variations in temperature during formation! When amethyst experiences temperature increases, the color changes from purple to yellow. When it is heated unevenly, both colors are displayed. I study geology for college, so I thought I’d add this. Super amazing stone!

To my knowledge, most “Citrine” you see for sale in shops is fake, in as much as it is heat treated amethyst. True Citrine is rare and can be quite expensive relative to amethyst and fake “Citrine”.

I just saw a stone that had nearly identical triangles of color. id suggest trying to find one with those characteristics and cut it in a way that the natural patterns symmetrical align with the final cut.
