once you do the ascents, you will learn the brutality of alpines. ascent 5 makes every night cold, building up to 90% before day hits. this also combos with the snowstorm, making you unable to heat back up without items or similar. Meaning, if you get caught in the storm doing night without items, you instantly lose

honestly I don't have too many issues with the tropics. it's the Arctic biome that gets me the most.

My friends and I climb somewhat often, not every day, but we finish every day, and usually first try. I'm bragging a little bit that we are good only so I can reinforce what you are saying. The tropics are a nightmare and I hate them. Easily the most difficult level

tropics is hands down the hardest. Some times the map doesnt have thorns on the vines which makes it crazy easy.

honestly after the tropics it's kinda easy. yeah bad generation can skrew you. I think the only way to make the others just as dangerous would be more things that cause touch damage.

its the way the maps generate. because its random even the creators dont know if the map of the day is beatable
