I wanted so bad to join the Marines after 9/11 happened. I graduated highschool in 2002 and went to sign up. Went to MEPS and went through everything only to be disqualified because they said I had "flat feet" which is a bullsh*t excuse. I played sports all through school and I've worked on concrete all my life in steel toe boots and never had issues with my feet hurting not once. I live with the regret every day that I was here while my fellow Americans we're fighting and making the ultimate sacrifice. The regret and the time that has passed burns deep in my soul.
