Yea this isn’t good advice at all. Standing doing nothing isn’t gonna help obviously, but in Canada there’s a good chance you’re done for without food and shelter.

Honestly, the woods analogy is not effective. First, many people don't have a compass, so we might go in circles. Moving forward can sometimes mean going backwards. I understand we shouldn't stand still, change the analogy.

Wouldn't walking down hill until you find a a stream or river. then follow that stream or river downstream,be a resonable strategy? water been you most immediately resource and most settlements are at close to rivers or streams .

I feel like direction is key. I’m from Maine, you get lost on a mountain in Maine, you don’t want to guess and start walking. You need to map your surroundings, and know what to look for. Start heading up river 👋 😬 make things worse

He never lost in the woods. You need to wait and look at which direction the sun is going. You can tell direction. You have to listen for noise Like vehicles . You need to find a place to sleep and start early morning.
