if you don't know a bullet is coming, it doesn't matter how slow it's going. if I gently toss something at you, but you don't know it's coming, it'll still likely hit you. he can easily get out of the way of a bullet that he knows is coming.

he doesn't move hawkeye. he moves the car in front of them to take the bullets and he gets caught in the crossfire. so that is a feat of super strength.

There was no way he could’ve saved Hawkeye without using his body as a shield. He doesn’t have super strength to carry both Hawkeye and a child or the strength to find someone heavy enough to block the bullets. Super speed is a bad superpower because of the amount of cons it has, one twisted ankle then it’s over.

he blocks them on purpose. it was a sacrifice, he got hit because he used his speed to save them and NOT dodge the bullets.

what I just realised is that he probably felt each and every one of those bullets slowly tearing through his flesh because of how he perceives time when he's using his speed. that would be absolutely excruciating.
