@washingtonstatedot: WSDOT, use Hydro Demo! It’s super effective (on the Ship Canal Bridge!) As we wrap up our second week of Revive I-5 construction on the northbound Ship Canal Bridge, construction is moving along smoothly. This past week and into next, we’re hydro-demolishing (using high pressure water) to remove old and worn concrete so we can make needed repairs to this massive bridge. This hydro demolition has helped us remove the top layer of three football fields worth of bridge deck. That’s a lotof roadway.   Next week, once the hydro demo is done in this area, we’ll start pouring some fresh, new concrete creating a new bridge deck surface for travelers to ride on.   We’re examining traffic data every day and seeing the results of adjusted commute and all-around travel behaviors as people adapt to the Revive I-5 lane reductions. Please stay the course when it comes to encouraging your friends and family to try new ways to get around. Reminder: Northbound I-5 will be fully closed once again the weekend of August 15-18 so we can wrap up this portion of work.
