Please make sure you actually contact these companies and close your account so you are not attempted to request a new card. Also, having this many open accounts, even with zero balances could be severely impacting your credit score.

We have 4 credit cards. All with 0 balance. I wait till i get the notice that they are closing my account use them and pay it off. Not messing with my perfect credit score. closing all those your credit will take a big hit

the one thing I have to say about having credit cards ... just because a credit card is cut up doesn't mean you can't ever use that card again. it is possible to use credit cards online so if you want to make sure the card or the account is completely closed call the number on the back of the card and have them close it out after you've paid off the entire account and at the same time ask them to send you a statement in the mail stating you have closed out your account completely because if you don't the credit card company could just reopen it without you knowing and start using it and send you the bill

That takes a lot of courage most people I know would have maxed out every single one of those cars and then they would’ve cut them up and just simply not paid the bill, but they would have a lot of nice stuff you would be amazed at how many people out there actually do that
