I love love love setters! I’ve only ever had English setters. My grandparents have a Gordon setter and my cousins have an Irish setter. They are such amazing dogs and so great with kids. I recommend to anyone that can let them run around.

I used to be so disappointed in how my dog looked in adolescence. Big ears, short coat didn't even look like her breed. No one told me that my dog wouldn't magically fit the breed as a baby 🤣 seriously look at this, guess the breed and I'll show you her now

I feel like that’s the better way around than getting a dog you think is miniature and it grows to be a standard size. FYI, standard dachshunds are enormous!

😂😅 Same I have a field English setter and thought I was getting one with beautiful spots and big with flowing hair.WRONG!! I got a 40lb thing with short hair 😂 she’s loving and awesome but like not what I imagined 😂

He is my 4th Irish in my lifetime but he is my first field Irish. I call them the fraternal twins of the Irish setters. Regardless, they’re all so very loving 🥰

my friend adopted a “super mutt” from the shelter, turns out it was a Irish wolfhound (he was completely bald and didn’t start looking like a Irish wolfhound until he was a year old)

I have a Field irish Red Setter and the other kind (I wouldnt say show but more along those lines). They are uncle and nephew. The SIZE of my (1st, the uncle) Field vs the big boy is ridiculous. And the energy level and metabolism on the Field matches his intensity 😂

I got a Labrador puppy. He is a year old now and isn’t even 50 pounds yet and maybe 19-20 inches tall and the breeder advised him has American/English which I have one older boy who is the same and he is 63 pounds and 22-23 inches tall. He doesn’t seem to be growing at all but looking more into his pedigree it’s obvious that he actually came from British lines which are just smaller than American lines they only get 50 pounds. He is in the middle.
