I think people need to wake up from their western slumber and realize Chinese people are very aware that the douyin makeup and look changes your whole face and is full of face tune. None of those girls actually look like that and because the face editing is seen as part of social media it doesn’t become a beauty standard. Those girls aren’t trying to fool anyone like we do when we use face filters in the west. Everyone knows they don’t look like that, that’s why the real beauty standards are different.
