But if you give a copper golem a treasure map they will look for chests that have these maps; better to give him a diamond. Also I’m pretty sure they can’t path find to chests that have a block over them

9-9 method is easier it's basically opening the F3 menus and going to the coordinates 9-9 of the chunk and mine down

for all the people saying, "just use F3," it's cool to have an actual in-world feature to help with it not just the debug screen. i get that by now it's integrated it's way into normal play but I can almost guarantee that that wasn't as was intended. plus it's proof that they're paying at least a little attention to the community and actually listening which has been hard to come by as of late and only barely growing more recently.
