The class that turned me Republican was political critical thinking. On Monday we would be split into groups and given a controversial political topic (abortion, gun rights, etc.). We were not told if we would be the Republican side or the Democrat side for the debate so we had to prepare a full debate from both perspectives and all of our arguments had to be backed by research and/or actual political stances taken during debates. On Wednesday we would watch several big debates between senators and presidents debating that topic for that week. On Friday we had our debate. He would flip a coin, say you’re this party, you’re this party, go. At the end we had to turn in both debate outlines with sources from where we got our information. I went from a bleeding heart pro life democrat to right of Donald Trump in 4 months. (Note this was in 2014 when the political climate was somewhat tame)

You can be economically conservative and socially liberal. Hope this helps. The issue is the Republican Party is niether. They are pretty much regressives. Been fighting for that gilded age for decades and decades. Wierd how it took them progressive liberals to get that country booming, only for the last 40 od years of Republican meddling has it gotten worse.
