Excited to announce my participation in the group exhibition, Between Flame, Stone, and Tide which opens tomorrow 1st, August, 2026 at @mitochondria.gallery in Houston, Texas, US. My new body of works will be on display alongside other incredible artists. More details in the caption below. For other inquiries pls contact info@mitochondriagallery.com @mitochondria.gallery Mitochondria Gallery is pleased to present its summer exhibition, Between Flame, Stone, and Tide, bringing together the practices of Alex Peter Idoko, Chika Idu, and Ejiro Fenegal. The exhibition explores how elemental forces shape narratives of memory, identity, belonging, and environmental responsibility. Alex Peter Idoko explores fire as a force of destruction and renewal, burning canvas and paper with a blowtorch before repairing them through collage and embroidery. His works reflect on memory, presence, and belonging. Ejiro Fenegal uses marble to honor the lives of women in her community. Through realistic busts with vibrant patinas, she reimagines the medium as a contemporary archive of personal and collective identity. Chika Idu's textured oil paintings depict children in aquatic landscapes, exploring the connection between vulnerable communities and threatened environments while presenting water as both a space of play and a symbol of environmental care. Together, Idoko, Fenegal, and Idu examine transformation through fire, stone, and water, considering how memory, identity, and belonging are shaped by material, place, and the environments that sustain us. @alexpeter_idoko @ejirofenegal @chikaidusart Between Flame, Stone, and Tide opens Saturday, August 1st, 2026 Opening Reception: August 1, 2026 Mitochondria Gallery 2220 Commerce Street #D 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Inquiries: info@mitochondriagallery.com
