@aharrisphoto: As the summer heat presses down on New York City, hundreds of silent voices go unheard. At @puppykittynycity, as of August 2nd, 2025, there are so many cats with no applications, no interest, no hope in sight. Some have waited years. Some, only weeks. But all of them share the same heartbreaking reality: they are homeless, forgotten, and utterly alone. Each of them carries a story that would shatter your heart. Some were left behind when they got sick, deemed too much to care for. Others were thrown away by the humans they trusted, left to wonder what they did wrong. And then there are those who fought every day just to survive on the streets, scrounging for scraps, dodging danger, until this rescue gave them shelter. They are safe now but safety is not a home. With over 500 cats in their care, the rescue is stretched beyond limits. Foster homes are full, resources are thin, and every single day, more desperate souls arrive kittens born in alleyways, seniors abandoned after a lifetime of love, sick and injured cats with nowhere else to go. They need you. Maybe you can’t adopt but can you foster? Give one a temporary haven until their forever family comes. Maybe you can’t foster but can you volunteer? Spend an hour socializing, cleaning, helping them feel loved. Maybe you can’t volunteer but can you donate? Even $5 can feed a hungry mouth, heal a broken body. And if you can’t do any of that can you share? Can you be their voice when they have none? These cats don’t know they’ve been overlooked. They don’t know that while the world scrolls past, they remain invisible. But you know. And you can change that. One post. One share. One adoption. One life saved.
