I am Jamaican, and I take pride in my country. I value my independence and feel fortunate to have a great job. Unfortunately, not all Jamaicans are honest; there are instances of dishonesty, as well as issues related to HIV and AIDS. On the positive side, there are also many good men who are respectful, intelligent, honest, and family-oriented. It's a mixed experience, so it's important to be cautious about which Jamaicans you engage with and the type of relationship you pursue. I made a personal vow not to date American women, especially those from California, because my experience with my ex-wife, who was American, turned into my worst nightmare. It brought about significant depression and stress, and while I am still healing from that experience, I am gradually moving forward.
