@rencrenle: life is good when you don’t have to worry about venmoing your man. he would 0/100 everything if i asked, but spending money on him makes me happy too :) nothing beats a provider that is generous to both you and others. 😇 #sanfrancisco #sf #couplefinances #personalfinanceforwomen #sftok #Budgeting #providermen
Seems super fair. 50/50 doesn’t make sense when you’re income isn’t 50/50

Rent is 11% of your income? 😭 This would change my LIFE. My rent is 50% of my income, and I have cheap rent in my area 🥲

Just a little tip… make sure you have at least one utility in your name in case you ever neeed to provide a proof of address and it also helps establish credit in your name/shows positive payment history on something other than debt payments like cc’s/loans. 😊

so glad I’m not in a heterosexual relationship! man/woman dynamics make things so complicated! my husband and I as soon as we fell in love, all that was his was mine and all that was mine was his. we don’t *split* anything because our money is SHARED!!! because we are TOGETHER! 💯♥️🙏

My fiancé has me pay everything and I have to beg for him to Venmo me so I can make my bills. He’s three months behind but gets paid more than me. Is this a red flag?

How much do you each make? I’m kind of confused because you said that rent is $3k so your portion would be $750 and his would be $2250. If $2250 is 18% of his monthly, then his monthly income is $12.5k, so his annual is $150k, meaning according to what you said, your annual salary is $37.5k—$50k, but if $750 is 11% of your monthly income, then it would be ~$6.8k, meaning an annual income of ~$82k ?? Which is closer to half his income. But I could also be wrong because obviously you both know the income so maybe I’m understanding the percentages incorrectly?

This is how I am with my husband! Except I make more than him so it’s flipped! As our incomes change, we adjust accordingly. We like having our own money but both make contributing to our shared savings a priority as well.
