A lot of horses are not suitable for human consumption because they are pumped full of different drugs, medicines, and supplements throughout their lives, especially if they were pets at one point. Horses slaughtered for meat can come from many backgrounds. The horsemeat is likely not traceable, which means there’s no way to tell if the meat from these horses is safe to eat or if withdrawal times were abided by.

Yea horses ARE safe to eat, but know that domestic ones usually have medicine, drugs, and antibiotics in their system making very dangerous for human consumption. Even wild horses, would have bacteria and parasites in their system, so it is very dangerous to even TRY to eat a horse.
