My mom was a nurse in Vietnam, and our neighbor is who this book is loosely based on. My mom has never spoken to us much at all about her experiences there, but I felt like I got to know her so much more through this book because she said it was very accurate, especially how the nurses were treated when they came home 💔. Kristin Hannah writes important stories. Get ready for The Nightingale 😭😭😭😭.

As a woman, thank you for seeing us, we’ve been through it and made invisible throughout history, to have a man read a book about us and the history and to share his emotional world afterwards, the bar is being reset when this happens. Not that we need men for validation but to see that women went through so much as a separate story to men is important. Please keep sharing on this plaitform.

The Nightingale ruined me. Kristin Hannah just hits different, I’ve read a couple of her books now and have not been disappointed. You have to mentally prepare yourself though for the ugly cry. Cause it will be an ugly cry. Happy reading.
