So true. i am always viewed as unreasonable for stating my political opinions as i mean them without watering them down. it feels so natural to retreat and almost apologise and over explain. but i make sure to never do that and they call me some kind of agent of chaos, intentionally throwing gasoline on the fire and “making men more hateful” by being “unreasonable and radical”. this is how they keep us down and apologetic

I think this is a result of a lack of media literacy. People won’t read a full statement or watch a full video before commenting, and people now feel the need to give a ton of disclaimers before saying anything to an audience.

i find myself doing it without realising and not being able to help myself nearly every day. a lot of it is to do with the fact that the reaction to a woman unapologetically and firmly asserting her opinion is actually often bad if it isn’t pro patriarchy
